Short Links are branded, trackable URLs on Creem’s l.creem.io domain. You point a short link at any destination, share it anywhere, and Creem records every click. When a visitor goes on to buy through your Creem checkout, the sale is attributed back to the link that brought them, so you see revenue per link, not just clicks.
Short Links live in your dashboard under Growth > Short Links. Every link belongs to a store, and anyone with access to that store can manage them.

Key Features

  • Branded short URLs - Custom or auto-generated slugs on l.creem.io
  • Revenue attribution - See checkouts, conversion rate, and net revenue per link
  • Campaigns - Group related links and measure them side by side
  • Smart redirects - Send iOS, Android, or visitors from specific countries to different destinations
  • Password protection and expiry - Gate a link or set a date after which it stops working
  • QR codes - Download a customizable SVG or PNG QR code for every link
  • Safe destinations - Destination URLs are checked against Google Web Risk
1

Open Short Links

In your dashboard, go to Growth > Short Links and click New link.
2

Choose a destination

Pick one of two modes:
  • Product - Select one of your Creem products. The link points at its payment page and revenue attribution is on.
  • Link - Paste any http or https URL (up to 2048 characters).
A test-mode product creates a link to your test checkout, so visitors are not charged.
3

Name it and pick a slug

Give the link a title for your own reference. Leave the slug blank to auto-generate an 8-character one, or type your own:
  • 3 to 50 characters
  • Lowercase letters, numbers, and single hyphens between them
  • Unique across all of Creem, not just your store
The slug cannot be changed after the link is created.
4

Add optional settings

Assign the link to a campaign, add up to 20 tags, set an expiry date, require a password, or configure redirect rules. All of these can be edited later.
5

Save and share

Copy the short URL or download the QR code from the link’s detail page.
Point short links at your Creem checkout or product pages whenever you want revenue numbers. Links to external destinations still track clicks, but no sale can be attributed to them.

Redirect Rules

A single short link can send different visitors to different destinations. Rules are evaluated in this order and the first match wins:
  1. Platform - A separate URL for iOS and for Android visitors (for example, the App Store and Play Store listings). Desktop visitors skip this step.
  2. Country - Up to 25 country rules per link, each an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code (US, DE, BR) with its own URL.
  3. Default - The link’s destination URL.
Country rules use the visitor’s location as seen by Creem’s edge network. If a visitor’s country cannot be determined, they receive the default destination.

Password Protection

Turn on password protection to require a password before redirecting. The password is 4 to 128 characters. Visitors land on a Creem-hosted page, enter the password, and continue to the destination. A click is only recorded after the password is entered correctly. Repeated wrong attempts from the same visitor are rate limited.

Expiry

Set an expiry date and the link stops resolving after it. Visitors who open an expired link see a not-found page. Analytics collected before expiry are kept.

Tags and Campaigns

Tags are free-form labels for filtering your links list. Campaigns are a stronger grouping: a campaign has its own page listing every link inside it, with clicks and attributed conversions rolled up across all of them. Create campaigns from the Campaigns tab, then assign links to them when creating or editing a link.

QR Codes

Every link has a QR code you can copy or download as SVG or PNG. You can customize the dot style, marker shape, colors, and whether the Creem logo appears in the center. Because short links are dynamic, a printed QR code keeps working even if you later change the link’s destination.

Analytics

The Analytics tab shows performance per link, per campaign, or across a selection of up to 10 links side by side. Pick a range (last 7, 30, or 90 days, last month, or a custom range) and a granularity (hour, day, week, month). Breakdowns are available by referrer, country, device, and product, and every view can be filtered by country, device, or referrer.
Revenue is reported per currency and never converted or summed across currencies. A sale is dated by the click that led to it, not by the payment date, so revenue appears in the period the visitor clicked.

How attribution works

  1. When a visitor is redirected, Creem sets a cookie in the visitor’s browser that identifies the click. It lasts 30 days.
  2. If that visitor starts a Creem checkout while the cookie is present, the checkout is attributed to the click.
  3. If the cookie is missing, Creem falls back to matching the visitor’s IP address and browser against clicks from the last 12 hours in your store.
  4. Each click can be attributed to at most one checkout. Attribution is last-touch: the most recent click gets full credit.
Attribution is not possible when a visitor clicks on one device and buys on another, blocks cookies and cannot be matched by fingerprint, or completes the checkout inside a third-party iframe.
  • Edit - Change the destination, title, campaign, tags, expiry, password, redirect rules, or QR style at any time. The slug is fixed.
  • Archive - Archiving stops a link from resolving and collecting clicks. Its analytics are kept. Archiving cannot be undone, and there is no separate delete.
  • Filter - The links list can be filtered by status (active, expired, archived, blocked), campaign, and tag.
Archiving a campaign removes it from the campaign picker. Links already in that campaign keep their association.

Safe Destinations

Creem checks the destination URL and every redirect-rule URL against Google Web Risk when you create or edit a link. If a URL is flagged as unsafe, the link cannot be saved. Active links are also re-checked periodically. A link whose destination becomes unsafe is moved to the Blocked status and stops resolving. To restore it, edit the link with a safe destination and save again.

Limitations

  • Short Links are managed from the dashboard. There is no public API for creating or listing them.
  • Query parameters added to a short URL (such as UTM tags) are not forwarded to the destination. Put tracking parameters in the destination URL itself.
  • Expired, archived, blocked, and unknown links all show the same not-found page.
