# If your account was rejected

> What a rejection means, how it differs from a request for changes, and where to check your status. Also covers accounts described as failing verification.

Most accounts that don't pass review the first time are asked to make changes, not rejected. These are different outcomes with different consequences. Check which one you have before doing anything else.

## Where to check your status

Everything about your review sits on your [account page](https://www.creem.io/dashboard/balances/accounts). It shows your current status and the comments explaining what was requested, or why the account was rejected.

The verification banner in your dashboard shows which step you're on and where it stands:

| Banner status | What it means |
| ---------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Waiting for Creem review** | We have what we need. Nothing for you to do. |
| **Waiting for your input** | Something is needed from you. The account page says what. |
| **Rejected** | This step is closed. |

## Which outcome do you have?

| Outcome               | What it means                                                                                                                                                                                    |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Changes requested** | We found something specific that needs fixing. This is not a rejection. Fix it and request a re-review yourself. See the [Re-Review Guide](/merchant-of-record/account-reviews/re-review-guide). |
| **Rejected** | We aren't able to support this business on Creem. Final decision for this store. |

<Note>
  If the **Request re-review** button is available on **Balance → Payout Account**, you have changes requested, not a rejection.
</Note>

## Identity verification is a separate check

Identity and business verification (KYC and KYB) runs separately from the account review. Passing one doesn't decide the other, and the two are easy to confuse.

Your verification status appears in the banner as soon as the check completes. Pending means we review within 48 business hours. Rejected means the decision is final, with no resubmission for that step.

## If your account was rejected

A rejection is a decision about what we're able to support. In almost every case it comes down to one of two things:

* **The product falls into a category we can't process for**, under our payment partners' requirements or card scheme rules.
* **Risk signals** on the account, the website, or the business behind it.

Neither of those changes by resubmitting, by attaching more documentation, or by describing the product differently. We don't re-review a rejected account for the same business.

The comments on your account page explain which one applied to you.

## If you want to sell something else

Got a genuinely different product? Create a new store for it. It gets reviewed on its own merits, and a previous rejection doesn't rule you out.

<Warning>
  This means a different business, not the same one resubmitted. A rejected product under a new store reaches the same decision.
</Warning>

## Before you build

Planning a new product and want to know whether we can support it? Check the acceptable, restricted and prohibited product lists in [Account Reviews](/merchant-of-record/account-reviews/account-reviews) before you integrate. Much cheaper to find out then than after.
